Today we’ll correct the touchscreen mount in height with 2 cheap strips of aluminum to create an offset mount:
The strips are 3cm wide and were cut to 19cm length. Let 2cm space, then mark for holes in 5cm intervals, at the end there should be 2cm left until reaching the other edge.
Then drill 2 larger holes (I used a 10mm steel drill) into the Obutto’s holding plate, these will enable the screws from the rear to pass through and hold the screen against the offset plates. On the offset plates themselves, countersink the first and the third hole. These will be facing the user – if you use countersunk screws and a locking nut on the other side, you end up with a flat surface to screw your screen to.

This gives you a little more legroom when using a center-mounted touchscreen. 🙂
