Ergonomic Workstations and Office Events

The last event you attended at work wasn’t very memorable. In fact, it was rather lackluster and borning. It’s not that the food was bad, it was more the fact that the event had no theme and no direction, guests weren’t quite sure what to do.

Well, as it just happens, you have been chosen to organize an office event. You enjoy a challenge, but you want to make sure that your office event is a huge success.

Office events have a reputation for being a bit stale. You want to look into ways to inject some creativity into yours. Office events are great opportunities for fellow coworkers to mingle and talk about other subjects beside work, weather and politics. Your company is sinking a lot of money into this event, you don’t want to leave anybody disappointed.

Obutto, home of the ergonomic workstation, offers event ideas that are sure to impress and entertain.

Karaoke Christmas

If your event is scheduled for around the holiday season, you could have a karaoke Christmas. Rent a karaoke machine or two or three depending on the number of employees showing up, and have a friendly competition.

There is a catch, you are the one who picks the teams and you also choose the songs each team will perform. This is a great way to build character and bring people together.

Chocolate Factory

If you are in charge of organizing the company’s holiday party, incorporate some whimsical fantasies into it. You can either do a Chocolate Factory party or a Candyland themed party. Whichever theme you choose, you will need plenty of goodies to serve the guests.

Both delicious themes are fun, flavorful and spirited.

Nightmare Before Christmas

If you are familiar with Tim Burton and his hit movie A Nightmare Before Christmas, it has a look that is totally different than traditional holiday movies. Channel your inner Tim Burton by going with this gothic holiday party theme.

Ugly Sweater Christmas

People will go out of their way to buy and wear the ugliest sweater they can find. We are talking about sweaters that are so ugly they make your eyes water. Instruct your party guests to wear their ugly sweater to the party and have everybody embrace the ugliness.

Masquerade Ball

If you work for a company with a super casual dress code, make the gusts to your event dress up for a masquerade ball.

For the decor, consider theater masks and harlequin patterns, anything decadent will work just fine. Set up a station where guests can go and decorate masks to wear for the event. You will need items like glitter, feathers and felt pens so guests can make their masks beautiful and unique.

Hire a quirky band and come up with a list of great dance tunes that will encourage people to hit the dance floor.

Winter Wonderland

Everybody dreams about a white Christmas. Unfortunately, it is a rare occurrence for many. So do your guests a favor and create the perfect winter wonderland for them to enjoy.

You will want to make it look like the entire world is covered in snow, so make sure you have plenty of the fake stuff. To make it seem more realistic, have your guests arrive in heavy coats and other winter gear including hats and scarves.

You can have warm wine and icy vodka cocktails served.

Holidays Around the World

Most cultures and countries around the world celebrate the holiday season, only in their own unique way. So you could throw an event where everybody celebrates the holidays in different ways.

This event will be even more fun if you have a multicultural office. Encourage guests to dress in traditional costumes and think about how other religions and cultures celebrate this time of year.

Murder Mystery

For your murder mystery event, teams are formed and given an identity at the start of the party. The teams are to play as characters for the entire event. There has been a murder and the guilty party is at the event. The teams compete to see who can solve the mystery. It helps when the characters dress up and bring props.

Holiday Movie Party

The holiday season is rich with serious, funny and heartwarming movies. You can probably name several dozen holiday movies off the top of your head. Remember, Die Hard is a holiday movie.

A great theme to choose for your next office Christmas party is to choose a few of your favorite holiday movies and stage a screening. Create a mixed DVD with scenes from holiday movies for your guests to enjoy. Tell guests to dress up as their favorite movie character. The event will play out a lot like a midnight showing on The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Don’t forget to serve Junior Mints, Milk Duds and popcorn.
