So in spite of the neoprene(?) surface being visible clean, and free of any imperfections I’m starting to have significant dead zones on it in which my mouse is either completely unable to track at all, or do so with very obvious degradation of tracking.

I’ve tried giving it a scrub with some warm water and shampoo and this has had no apparent benefit.

Has anybody else run into this issue and managed to find a good cleaning solution to maybe clean up whatever may be causing this signal interference? If not, any suggestions on where I might purchase a replacement surface? I know I can purchase an entire pack (pedal tray, steering wheel mount and keyboard tray) but that would be complete overkill as I only simply need to replace the keyboard tray at worst.

Another alternative would be to know if anybody has found a suitable mouse surface that will fit within the 12″ diameter mouse-area on the tray, ideally a harder plastic one but a cloth would work just as well? I’ve tried looking and have yet only been able to find rectangular surfaces that I’d rather not have to cut up (the craftsman/fabricator gene is weak in this one).
