keyboard/mouse tray center mounted ?

While I’m patiently waiting for my R3volution (expected first or second week in April), I’m thinking about how to set it up. I don’t play racing games, so this will be an exclusive flying and working rig. I ordered tabletops and HOTAS mounts with the base. I’m planning to fly sidestick, stick right, throttle left. So from whichever side I slide the k/b tray in, either stick or throttle will be in the way. What I’m considering, is mounting the k/b tray center. Does this work ? Will I have enough room to comfortably get in and out of the seat with a setup like that ?
